2023-24 Upper Deck Clear Cut Hobby Box

2023-24 Upper Deck Clear Cut Hockey is about as transparent as a deck of cards can get. Everything is acetate and (almost) everything is autographed. As in previous years, collectors can expect to find one card per box.

The basic autographs follow the same general layout as the flagship 2023-24 Upper Deck Hockey set. The checklist, however, is not quite the same. Here, it's a mix of veterans, rookies and retired stars. The cards are printed on acetate, giving them a transparent look and a plastic feel. Veterans have 1:6 packs, recruits 1:4 packs and legends 1:60 packs.

Parallels are also familiar to the main series with Outburst (/25), High Gloss (/10) and Gold Outburst (1/1).

UD Canvas signatures (1:12 packs) are another set that takes a leap forward. Red Ink versions are limited to the player's jersey number, while Gold Ink versions are unique.

Still on the canvas theme, there are Canvas Rookie Debut Signatures (/25). These cards also have unsigned versions. These are the only 2023-24 Upper Deck Clear Cut Hockey cards without autographs. They are a bonus in boxes that have redemption.

Most of the other autographs on the checklist are inspired by other brands. Black Diamond offers the Myriad 1998-99 (1:54 packs) with additional Rookies (1:22 packs) and Legends (1:180 packs). These have blue (/25) and gold (1/1) parallels.

Champs autographs add a retro touch to the modern product. There are also Veterans (1:12 packs), Rookies (1:105 packs) and Legends (1:105 packs), as well as blue (/50), red (/10) and black (1/1) versions.

Other retro models include Ionix Authentics 1998-99 (1:30 packs), UD Classic Portraits 2003-04 (1:40 packs) and Upper Deck Sweet Shot Autographs 2006-07 (1:25 packs).

Rookie Retro Autographs (1:45 packs) recreate the best-known Rookie cards as acetate signatures. They come from a variety of brands and years.

Supreme Skill (veterans - 1:30 packs, rookies - 1:17 packs) complete the picture. They are available in blue (/25) and gold (1/1) versions.
